Day 1: Dullstroom |
|
|
| |
Transfer to our offices in Kempton Park. On completion of admin, we board the truck and head in an easterly direction to Mpumalanga. Our first overnight stop is in the 120-year-old mountain village of Dullstroom. At about 2100m above sea level, Dullstroom is one of South Africa's highest villages. It is a well-known fly-fishing venue, but relaxing, hiking, dining out and the country atmosphere all contribute to Dullstroom’s charm. Tonight we overnight at The Old Transvaal Inn situated in the village. (D)

Day 2: Hazyview |
|
| |
After breakfast, we travel along a scenic route via the historic mining village of Pilgrims Rest to Hazyview. During the course of the day, we follow the Panorama route visiting God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, the Pinnacle, the Blyde River Canyon and Mac Mac Waterfalls.
In Hazyview we will spend the night at Gecko Lodge in either lodge or chalet accommodation. (B,L,D) |

Day 3: Kruger Park |
|
| |
During the course of the morning, we depart Hazyview for the Kruger National Park. En-route to our overnight accommodation in the Park, we will have ample time for game viewing. Keep your eyes peeled for the secretive leopard that frequent the Southern areas of the Park. (B,L,D)

Day 4: Kruger Park |
|
| |
We begin our morning with a guided Game Walk. This is a wonderful opportunity of viewing not only big game, but also the smaller inhabitants of the bush. The rest of the day is spent exploring, with a lunch stop at one of the rest camps or picnic sites. Once again we will overnight in the Park. (B,L,D)

Day 5: Kruger Park |
|
| |
Today, we depart our camp and make our way to the southern most part of the Park. This evening, a night game drive and bush braai will bring a memorable end to our time in the bush. We overnight for the last time in the Park. (B,L,D)

Day 6: Swaziland |
|
| |
After an early morning game drive, we leave the Kruger Park through the Malelane gate. We continue south where we enter Swaziland at the Matsomo border. En-Route to Milwane Game Reserve, we have ample time for sight seeing and visits to a glass factory, Swazi candle factory etc. Tonight our accommodation will be in a Bee Hive Village within Mlilwane Game Reserve. Day 7: St Lucia |
|
| |
We depart Swaziland through the Golela Border Post and head for St Lucia. St Lucia Game Reserve is a World Heritage Site. The St Lucia Lake and its surroundings comprise a wetland of global importance. The reserve contains among the highest forested dunes in the world, as well as mangrove swamps. Take an optional boat cruise on the Estuary for an opportunity to see a large number of crocodiles and hippos. (B,L,D)

Day 8: Scottburgh |
|
|
| |
We depart St Lucia after breakfast along the N2 to Durban and spend the day exploring this beautiful coastal city. Our lunch stop will be North Pier where you can watch cargo and passenger ships enter Durban Harbour. Should you wish to visit the Durban Aquarium or spend time shopping, there will be time to do this in the afternoon. Our overnight stop will be The Cutty Sark Hotel at the seaside resort town of Scottburgh. (B,L,D)

Day 9 & 10: Coffee Bay |
|
|
| |
Our destination today is Coffee Bay. We travel along the spectacular Transkei Wild Coast, stopping at Port St Johns for lunch. Once in Coffee Bay we will check into the Ocean View Hotel where we will be spending 2 nights. During the course of our stay here, we visit the well known ‘hole-in-the-wall’ and may even find cows ‘sunbathing’ on the beach. (B,L,D)

Day 11: Port Alfred |
|
|
| |
We continue along the Wild Coast today, stopping along the way to visit the birthplace of Nelson Mandela. Tonight we will spend the night in Port Alfred. (B,L,D)

Day 12: Tsitsikamma |
|
|
| |
After breakfast, we make our way to the Storms River Mouth, the beginning of the world famous Garden Route and the Tsitsikamma National Park where we overnight in Forest Huts. (B,L,D)

Day 13: Knysna |
|
|
| |
A walk through the beautiful Tsitsikamma Forest to the suspension bridge begins our day. We then begin our drive along the Garden Route, stopping at Monkeyland as well as Plettenberg Bay. We are travelling to Knysna – voted the best small town in SA. Where we will spend the night. (B,L,D)

Day 14: Knysna |
|
|
| |
Day at leisure. Check out the Knysna Waterfront or take a plunge in the warm Knysna lagoon. There are regular boat cruises to the Knysna Heads and the town is full of quaint curio shops. (B,L,D)

Day 15: Oudshoorn |
|
|
| |
Travel today over the Outeniqua pass to the Ostrich capital of SA Oudtshoorn. Once in Oudtshoorn, we will visit the awe-inspiring Cango Caves as well as a working Ostrich Farm. (B,L,D)

Day 15: Malgas |
|
| |
Travelling back to the coast, we stop for lunch at Mossel Bay and visit the Old Post Office Tree before heading to our overnight stop at Malgas. (B,L,D)

Day 17: Winelands |
|
| |
Today we travel to the southernmost tip of Africa, Cape Augulhas. This is where the Indian & Atlantic Oceans meet. We take time to explore the Park & visit Southern Africa's second oldest working lighthouse. From here, we venture onwards towards the Winelands of the Cape where we overnight on a wine estate in the area. (B,L,D)

Day 18: Cape Town |
|
| |
We take a leisurely drive via Somerset West to Simons Town, which lies on the Cape Peninsula. Penguins stroll along the beach at Boulders Bay where we stop on our way to Cape Point. From there it’s on to Cape Town where we will arrive mid afternoon. In Cape Town, we will stay at a Lodge close to the Waterfront. (B,L,D)

Day 19: Cape Town |
|
| |
After breakfast the tour ends and you are able to explore Cape Town at your leisure. There are many options available to you such as Table Mountain, Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, Two Oceans Aquarium, Boat trips to Robben Island and Seal Island etc. An airport transfer will be available for those not staying on in Cape Town.
