ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK - This is one of the major sanctuaries for wildlife in Africa. The heart of the park is the Etosha pan, meaning "place of dry water," an extensive, flat depression of about 5000 square kilometres. This great, white expanse is a place of shimmering mirages; seeing large herds of game n this setting is a uniquely African experience. (B,L,D)

After a day spent game viewing, we arrive at our first camp in the Park, Namutoni. (B,L,D)

  Day 3: Etosha - Camp

  Day 5: Opuwo - Camp

This morning it is time to head north to Opuwo – the “capital” of Kaokoland. Our campsite is situated close to the town. (B,L,D)

Day 6: Epupa Falls - Camp

After breakfast, we pack up camp and continue on to Epupa Falls on the edge of the Kunene River deep in Kaokoland.

Kaokoveld
Located in the far northwest, Kaokoland is one of the particularly untouched regions in Namibia. The almost inaccessible area south of the Kunene River is the home of the Himba ethnic group, who have kept their ethnic individuality and culture in the secluded Kaokoland.
Travelling through this region is only possible under expedition-like conditions in off-road vehicles and, furthermore, should only be done under the leadership of an experienced guide. Tracks are hardly signposted, corrugated and extremely stony or sandy. There are no service stations and no accommodation in Kaokoland. You must camp in the wild.
Our campsite is close to the Falls. (B,L,D)

Day 7: Epupa Falls - Camp

We spend the morning on a guided tour of the Falls and pay a visit to a Himba Village. The rest of the day is for relaxing and exploring. We once again overnight at Epupa. (B,L,D)

  Day 8: Sesfontein - Camp

On our travels through the Kaokoveld we will have the time to meet the Famous Himba people and the Herero. The Himba like the Masai of East Africa are probably the most striking looking people in Africa. Especially in the remote areas we are visiting, the Himba women are still dressed in their traditional dress

Our campsite tonight is to the north of Sesfontein. (B,L,D)

  Day 9: Purros - Camp

Today, we travel to Purros, situated to the west of Sesfontein. Here we will camp on the edge of a dry riverbed.

There are many animals that have adapted superbly to desert life. Keep you eyes peeled for the Desert Elephant and Black Rhino in this area as well as the spectacular antelope the Oryx or Gemsbok. (B,L,D)

  Day 10: Sesfontein - Camp

We spend the day in search of the animals that roam this desert landscape. Our camp tonight is just to the south of Sesfontein. (B,L,D)

  Day 11: Twyfelfontein - Camp

DAMARALAND - This is an arid, mountainous wilderness of rugged beauty, with spectacular gorges and rock formations. The plants of Damaraland have evolved to survive in an almost waterless environment .

Travelling via the Petrified Forest we head for Twyfelfontein . This area has a superb collection of more than 2400 rock engravings some of which we also view. (B,L,D)

  Day 12: Swakopmund - Camp

Today we visit the Burnt Mountain en route to Swakopmund. Namibias' premier holiday resort.

The town contains a wealth of German colonial architecture and typical German cakes and confectionary can be enjoyed.

Our campsite for the next 2 nights is close to town and affords a perfect opportunity to experience the nightlife of the town. (B,L,D)

  Day 13: Swakopmund - Camp

We spend this morning viewing the magnificent Wewitscia plains and Goanikontes, the moon landscape as well as the northern reaches of the Namib Naukluft Park.

Afternoon at leisure. (B,L,D)

  Day 14: Sossusvlei - Camp

After a relaxing morning we continue our journey to Sesriem, our next campsite. Sesriem, the gateway to Sossusvlei is named after a 30m deep canyon carved by the Tsauchab River. The name is a reference to the fact that pioneer farmers had to use 6 ox thongs to lower buckets into the canyon.

After camp has been set up, we take a drive to Sossusvlei for sundowners. (B,L,D)

  Day 15: Windhoek - Lodge

An early morning visit to Dune 1 is how our day begins then it is time for final leg of our journey to Windhoek. Spend the afternoon exploring the city. (B,L,D)
